When you come to have a tarot reading you come with your situation and interests. And the more specific situation you have, the more detailed questions you can ask.
For me as a tarot reader you can ask any questions you like though if you give me a small description of your situation you will get a more clear detailed reading.
Tarot can answer any questions as it is a universal system of giving the answers and it is an instrument. The answers depend on the ability of the reader to read the cards and a description of the situation given.
All these things are important. If you ask your question without telling about your situation, the interpretation of the cards can be not as detailed or may not make much sense.
Tarot reading is an intuitive reading of energies; it goes along with the psychic reading and also the meaning of the cards.
To better connect to the cards, a reader needs to have a short description of the situation. When people ask me to do a general reading about everything and the future it is not the best way to ask for a tarot reading.
Of course, I can do it though it may not answer those important deep questions the person has. And if I ask the cards what makes this person worry, what life intentions the person has, it will start showing the current situation so I can see the starting point and from that ask more questions.
The thing is that sometimes people come and they are closed inside and don’t want to tell about themselves or open up. And they may get abstract answers or answers on questions they originally came with but were scared to ask.
Tarot can answer any questions but they need to mean something for the person who asks them. If you ask just for fun, the reading may give you meaningless answers. Always ask the questions that you are really interested in and want to know the answers.
